Anna Claren - Holding

Photobook by Swedish photographer Anna Claren. I found a mention of this book in an old copy of FOAM magazine, looks like it has some amazing images so I'm hoping to get hold of a copy at some point!

Rob Honstra

Rob Honstra talks about self publishing his own books and his current project  ‘The Sochi Project’

"Dogs on Rocks" - William Wegman

A recent purchase from Sand Piper Books (http://www.uniquebrighton.com/htm/t20070524.480179.htm) in Brighton, Kensington Gardens. This book really surprised me as the subject matter is not something that I would usually be drawn to, but the combination of beautiful layout and paper stock with some amazingly lit and colored images was enough to tempt me. The images span a 10 year period of photographing the dogs on the Maine coast and the bleakness of some of the coastal shots is what for me makes the images really engaging. The layout remains consistent through out the book along with numbers and a list of plates at the back of the book.

"If You Leave"

http://fourteen-nineteen.com/ is a great collaboration, featuring work from young and emerging photographers. They stock an amazing range of self published books and zines on their site and in their physical shop. "If You Leave" features some beautiful photography and is on my list to buy as soon as it becomes available!

If You Leave

If You Leave is a collection of contemporary photography, snapshots of a journey made by wanderers who study the mysterious yet uncannily peaceful feeling of desolation and loneliness. it is more concerned with the impact of a single image, rather than a body of work by an individual photographer.

Capturing the beauty of solitude does not merely consist of the act of photography itself, it is the representation of a silent idiom of faces, landscapes, subjects and objects, all in their most personal and intimate états d` être.
As a collection it features the work of over a 100 different photographers from all over the world.
